I'll have a groupset a bit like record only
1. It will be lighter
2. It will work

Record works, but doesn't look wank though. I'm not sure DA is lighter either.

  • Oh it is. It's 200g lighter than sram red, which is lighter than record, and it is proper japanese engineering, not cheap italian crap.

Oh no, more handbags at 20 paces...

Why do people keep doing this? Is it really that important? Should I start having a pop at people who use Rolhoff chains because I use KMC?? What's next, "my dad's bigger than your dad"

Listen ladies, lets just agree to disagree. Some decent weather has finally arrived so just enjoy the ride no matter what you use

...and yes my dad is bigger than your dad

That's us all told with that startling in depth reasoning.
  • The same startling depth of reason that went into my posts.

Yeh, but will that 200g make you .002mph faster?

On a point of order the OP says he thinks Record is "cheap"
presumably he therefore thinks Dura Ace is more expesive than Record

Has he been taken as a mug by someone?

Are you absolutely sure it will work?.....I'd be very suspicous of a shifter system that had it's cables exposed for 18ish years...and now all of a sudden they've 'concealed them under the bar tape'!?? Pffft....everyone with a brain knows they've just airbrushed them out of the photos!! It's just a scam like those cardboard and string men that danced to music that you could buy from street salesmen scallies.
I'd rather walk than use Shimano
  • Bugger. Thieving gits. Airbrushing out the cables must be how they made the weight saving. 0.02 mph faster! Excellent! Over the course of a season that's a long way. :)

No. According to http://bikecalculator.com/veloMetricNum.html it'll make you 0.1kph faster

And anyway, you'll only have 10 cogs to play with.

Not 11 like the new fantastic Super Record I have ordered.
  • That eleventh cog. How can you stand all that extra weight? Is it an extra big one or an extra small one?

So, I guess you're not all that excited about Shimano's latest. Would it be safe to say
that you wouldn't really recommend it all that much? I'm think I'm going to have to take
your comment as a no vote. Let me know if I'm wrong.

    No, no no.

With all the carbon fibre bits, Campag is the nasty plastic crap. Shimano is nasty tinfoil crap.

No, I meant, if Shimano is "nasty tinfoil crap" and Campagnolo is "nasty plastic crap" then surely SRAM must be...
