OS bars or not on a girl's bike?

I need to get my better half a new stem for her Rockhopper as the WSD one that came with the bike is stupidly short, probably 40mm or something, there's almost no "stem" between the steerer and bar clamps.
Currently the bars are standard size and very plain factory jobbies...I've got some posher Bontrager OS ones kicking about which i was going to put on instead. So I need to order her either a standard stem or an OS one...which is best for her?
She's fairly petite so probably does not need the strength of an OS one, however unless most WSD bikes specifically go for the smaller size I'm tmepted just to go for OS for future upgradeability as presumably the standard size is slowly getting phased out.
Any thoughts?

does not matter.
personal choice, what does she like?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

TBH mate she probably won't spot the difference!
If there's no weight penalty I'll go OS and put the Bontys on for her. Thanks for the advice!0
