Personally i think its a good idea, id like to see the winning time in Paris be the actual
time it took the rider to finish the tour.
If its a close tour it would be intresting to do a count back and see if the time bonuses would have made any difference to the overall GC.
As long as they had put time on their rivals, would it make a rider less inclined to battle it out for the stage win as seen as the 20 sec bonus isnt up for grabs.

That bit is my main misgiving on the idea. I like to see a GC winner bag a stage or two. Otherwise, I look forward to seeing what effect it might have on the tactics.0 -
anyone know when time bonus's were introduced into the tour?0

1923. And the winner of each stage got a two minute bonus.0

Keep the bonifications - first across the line should be worth something.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -
It takes away another piece of strategy in winning the race. I think it makes it more boring. And yes, it takes away the incentive for GC guys to try and win a stage. Why waste the energy making the extra push when you can all just cruise across the finish line in the same time?0
