I have a set of Mavic Aksiums running 9 spd Shimano cassette.

How big a job would it be to convert them to run Campag 10 spd?

( My R7's are giving me a headache will the noise !! )

    Stop freewheeling! :P

Not sure with regard to Aksiums in particular (though I too own a set running 9-speed Shimano) but I've recently had a set of DT Swiss 1850s converted from 9-speed Shimano to 10-speed Campag. Cost was £60 for the freehub and LBS did it for free (though I was buying a bike from hem) but that was with a proper DT rotor conversion kit.

Oh and I don't know what the fuss is about Fulcrum freewheels. I've just got a set of Racing 3's and they're nothing compared to the Gatling gun like noise from a DT Swiss ratchet system.

I left myself wide open for that one, didnt I ?........

Lagavulin - thanks for the link. Do you know if it's a straightforward job to swap over ?

    I don't I'm afraid.

For what it is worth when I fancied a set of Zondas for my Allez I enquired how easy it was to convert them. The bloke at Italian Cycle Products said 'all you need is 2 5mm allen keys and a 17mm spanner'. Normally if you can make an ar$e of things I generally do so when it came to having my DT's done I decided to leave it to someone who knows what they're doing.
