Bar tape recommendations.

Hi there,looking to replace my bar tape on a 07 Focus Cayo what do people recommend?

Cork/Gel?

    I just switched from cork to gel and I can't stand it. It's huge and soft and mushy--like having a quilt wrapped around the bars, which is not very nice for hot summer riding. I'm actually going to the LBS today after work to pick up some cork tape so I can re-wrap my bars tonight.

    Fizik tape if you want coloured tape.

    For plain old black, some nice decent cork tape.

    I'm with "robs". Cork is the way to go.

    the only tape i WOUDN'T recommend is this:

    the yellow and black type in particular. i was about too put it on my bike and then decided the bin was the best place for it.

    Well I like 'gel' tape but I dont wear mitts.

    If you want durability, Fizik is the best - particularly in white as a good scrub with soapy water brings it up like new. I'd only recommend cork and the like in black - it gets very dirty very quickly otherwise. If you need more padding for the Fizik, buy the gel inserts.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    Another 1 for Fizik. It's thinner than the regular cork stuff - so a bit less padding, but I like the feel of it.

    Specialized Roubiax tape has come on my new bike and that seems pretty good.
    Used to have gel but got rid as it does lessen the feel of the road a lot.

    Stella Azzura Eleganza tape is the only one I use, just brilliant.
