Any issues w/first generation Campag 10spd?

I have a lead on a 7 year old Pegoretti, I'm told it's built up with "first generation" 10spd Record (full group including hubs.) Wonder if the Campag crowd can give me a quick lesson. How many versions of the the 10 spd Record group are there? Were there any issues with the first go from 2000 or did the later versions merely address weight savings?
Appreciate any guidance on this as I've never owned or ridden Campagnolo.

From memory, the primary changes were in the cable pull / indexing which was harmonised between the 9 and 10 speed ranges - previously, 10 speed shifters had a different 'pull' than 9 speed. At the time Campagnolo stated that you needed to have matched shifters and mech - but I think a lot of people mixed and matched with few problems. The shifters and mechs themselves barely changed. Over the intervening years, changes have been progressive i.e. differential brakes, oversize hubs, carbon derailleur cages (F+R) lighter shifting and the black finish on things like hubs, brakes etc. Importantly, there we'ren't any generic weaknesses being addressed and most parts are pretty well inter-compatible, so hopefully you can look forward to many years continued service from your Pegoretti.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Thanks Monty Dog, very helpful! Although I've ridden many thousands of miles I admit to no knowlege of high-end componentry. I've only owned old suntour and shimano 105 groups. The Pegoretti is several hours away by auto and I'm doing a bit of research before deciding to make the trip. (. . .and trying to keep my pulse in check as it's supposedly "new/old stock" in a bike shop - kept as a "steel demo" & offered at a pretty amazing price. . .Ok, I'm excited!)

    Anyway, thank for the response!
