Best way to care for a GoreTex bike jacket

I recently treated myself to a Gore BikeWear GoreTex PacLite jacket but I'm not sure how I should care for it etc, I know you have to be careful with GoreTex...any tips people?

    you have to be careful with goretex? :o oh oh..

    While my goretex jacket has seen neither terrible abuse or neglect, I havnt taken extra care with it either; its still fine :D

    Wash it with a specialist detergent like Nikwax Tech Wash. Don't bung it in with normal washing powder.

    You can then reproof the outside layer with Nikwax TX-Direct.

    Other than that, I don't think Gore-tex needs any specialist care :)

    Use Nikwax treatment available in most outdoor shops and also Hein Gericke. Make sure you rinse it well and usually wash on a cool cycle.

    never use fabric conditioner in the wash with any technical clothing either, it makes it smell lovely but buggers up the breathability.
