Mail order contacts

I last used daily disposable contacts years ago, without any problems, and have an up to date prescription for glasses.

Now I want to get some contacts by mail order but the sites specify that I must have a contact lens prescription.

Frankly I don't want the bother of going to the opticians yet again as I wrap up lots of lose ends/cables before the Etape in a week or so...

Has anyone used a site where the check up on one's contact lens prescription is not the, er, toughest?

Any tips might need to be sent to me at bclements222 at gmail dot com

Thanks

It's actually illegal to supply contact lenses in the UK without a valid prescription, so good luck :)

Think you'll struggle, why not check out the supermarkets, many have opticians now (Tesco & Asda), you often don't need an appointment and you don't have wait once you've ordered online for them to contact your optician to check your prescription, they are your optician.

Contact prescriptions can vary from glasses prescriptions as well. They also check out the health of your eyeball before prescribing contacts just to check there aren't any issues you're not aware of.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result
  • most require fax or e-mail scan of your prescription before they will send out, after that they no longer need one if your prescription alters. contactlenses.co.uk are good in my experience.
