Will These Work, Flat Bar Conversion.
Hi, gonna be doing a flat bar conversion on my Giant SCR 4, it's an 8 speed BTW, could someone tell me if these shifters will work, Thanks.

I flat-barred a shimano sora double with the same shifters so you'll have no problems.

Just noticed that those shifters have V-Brake wrote on them so they wont work.....will they :?:0

if they are setup for V brakes then if you run them with dual pivots you'll get a very firm lever and not much power, as the V-brake levers pull too much cable for DPs.Facts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Ok, another option thats come to mind is twistgrip shifters, anyone know if they will work, cheers.0

I did a flatbar conversion to my allez double using shimano r440 shifters which come in 8 & 9 speed, these were paired up with matching brake levers which look like mtb items but pull the same amount of cable as road sti brake levers.0

Good point on the brakes - mine were cantis, so actually got better by moving to the flat bar shifters0
