Well Spen you seem extremely intolerent of many on this forum. Other road users, pedestrians, etc.
So maybe it's time to have a little look in the mirror before accusing others.

Nipping around buses and cars stationary in traffic rather than the usual waiting behind them is just sensible not selfish. Oh and if there's any chance of anyone stepping out from anywhere without me seeing them, I either use my bell or give the "danger zone" a very wide berth.

Going round stationary traffic is a little different from your earlier posting claiming you were intolerant of other road users, specifically including pedestrians

No, it's our responsibility to not hit pedestrians however stupid they are.

    If you do, you've failed.

A little extract from a popular collection of general knowlege on the interweb:

"Force majeure (French for "greater force") is a common clause in contracts which essentially frees both parties from liability or obligation when an extraordinary event or circumstance beyond the control of the parties, such as war, strike, riot, crime, act of nature (e.g., flooding, earthquake, volcano), prevents one or both parties from fulfilling their obligations under the contract."

Kids are a force of nature, right?

Guys it was an accident - jesus - if you cycle over a squirrel, do you (a) blame the squirrel (b) blame yourself for not anticipating the squirrel's trajectory (c) think, "poor squirrel". Unless you are a bit of a tool, I think (c) is the answer.

I was a child once. I think most people were. Sometimes, I even got further than an arm's length from one or other of my parents. Other times, I did things that they did not predict. Sometimes I did things without thinking, because I was a child.

Oddly enough I very nearly ran over a squirrel on my morning ride.
It was all his fault and I really let the blighter know about it.

He apologised and said he was distracted by a rather shiny pair of nuts.

And even I have to admit that squirrels are more predictable than pedestrians. At least you know that they will dart across in front of you, freeze for a second and then dart off again. Some pedestrians never get past the "freeze" part.

Perhaps the people shouldn't have been crossing the road between stationary cars on the road, one of them could have moved off at any time hitting the person.

Oh please, back on planet Earth we all do this at some point

I wouldn't let my kid do it though, without me saying it is safe to cross, there is a huge difference between what an adult sees as safe to what a child does, you ought to know that with 2 little ones.

So this is now the parenting forum, is it? I appreciate your well meant advice on how to bring up my kids. And now some advice for you: go and f*ck yourself.

It's just a hill. Get over it.

I can't speak for him but... I don't think Jesus would run over a squirrel.

Not deliberately, anyway. If he did, he'd be able to be philosophical; "Non-gender specific cumulus omnipotent parental entity works in mysterious ways."

Wasn't it always Willie Weasel that got run over?

Seen a kid get a bollocking from it's mother after running out into the road in front of the bus the other day. Mum had one of the kids in her class run in front of her car it's mothers response to it was to say "we are crossing together", probably the same people that drive like they own the roads and no one else should get in the way.
