Orbea Onix; any owners out there?
New bike shortlist just kept getting longer, and the budget ever higher. I think, however, I have reached a decision.
Orbea Onix Bira. Prob buy from (very) LBS
Before I part with any cash, are there any owners of this vehicle out there? Are you happy with your purchases?

Hi Keef66, I bought an Onix Bira earlier this year(check out pics on 'check out my ride' thread) and I suppose I could be accused of bias but I am totally blown away by it. I tried several different bikes out before purchase so I didn't get blinded by shiny carbon.
I found that the ride quality was spot on for me balanced against the want for a stiff and responsive ride. I like the fact that when I put the hammer down for hills or sprints during interval training there is virtually no flex at all. Being 85kg I thought that it would wobble all over the place but I needn't have worried.
It is specced with all 105 kit and has WHR550 wheels which are ok but I think they are the weakest link and the frame is certainly good enough for something better.
I have used it for training, a charity ride and have just posted a 26min58sec 10TT at my first attempt with just 6 months training so I am more than happy with it.
If you go for one I am sure you won't be dissapointed.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

A very smart bike. I see a few around, and all are very happy with them. I ride the orca and can say that the carbon orbeas are confortable, stiff and fast. The look fantastic too!A Devonian in Norway0
