Best Commuter Lube?

Having spend the best part of 10 minutes this morning picking out bits of grass cuttings that had stuck themselves to the now sticky black LBS recommended lube on my bike, I think it's time for a change.

Any recommendations for a lube that works well for a commuter, I'm thinking:

1) Most Important - Does a good job of lubing everything, and keeping it running smoothly.
2) Simple to apply.
3) Clean(ish) no sticky black gloop after a week.
4) Not too expensive.
5) All weather (doesn't wash off or turn waxy in the rain, or melt in the sun).
6) Long lasting - no cleaning off and reapplying every week!
7) Doesn't attract every passing leaf, grass cutting, spec of grit.

Or am I asking the impossible?

Rufus.

Finish Line Cross Country Wet Lube has always served me well

ProLink Gold. Very fine, doesn't attract loads of road crap. Washes off easily though so regular top ups are required. It seems to make my chains last longer than Finish Line green did.

I now use "Green Oil" lube.
Works just as good as my old FL Wet lube. And it's better for the environment.

    Purple Extreme.

One (slightly expensive) 4oz bottle has kept my 4 bikes (road, commute, MTB and hack) running smooth and quiet for a whole year.

On-road figures quoted as "up to 400 miles" between applications. That's actually a pretty close claim IME.

Agreed - every time I re-lube with this.my bike feels silky smooth.
Only slight annoyance is that it's a bit of a faff to apply evenly.

Bike Spray (Muc Off) and GT85 for the rest of the bike.

I'll second Prolink Gold - it seems to offer the best of both wet and dry lubes, it stays very clean, but doesn't wash off too easily, I got away with weekly re-lubes during my winter commuting, many other lubes would have needed daily application (and I have tried most of the rest).
