Think you would need both arms and legs to get the most out of it!
Its a great looking bike, I've only give it a quick blast round the blue at Glentress and the fork wasn't bedded in yet so I didn't get a chance to really go for it but It climbs really well.
Looking forward to picking up a bit of skill riding a hardtail again after a couple of years mainly riding my full sus
i been after this bike for months but was put off by stories of the old rc303 frames cracking at the welds on the seat tube. the only bad report i found on the 305 was the dropouts. i am stuck for choice between the 305 and the whyte 905.
i always like the pace it looks so smart and the reports of its single track hadling are very good...
please please please please please please please keep us informed and upto date with this bike as my wallet is getting way to heavy and my shed is in need of another bike
nice bike love it.
the only bad report i found on the 305 was the dropouts.
Why what have you heard about the dropouts, i was quite intruiged by them, there are removeable dropouts on both sides of the frame fastened on by chainring bolts.
Good choice of bike! Got one myself, had it built up for a couple of months now, has to be the nicest riding bike iv ever ridden. Climbs like a rocket and can outrun alot of full sus on the way back down. Mainly ridden it at Glentress and Inners, so if this is were you're going to be riding on yours then you'll definately love it!
I've had it for a couple of months now and everythings going well. Running it with a new rockshox revelation and all the other kit of a previous bike. Rides really nicely, climbs realy fast (when my legs are on a good day!), and descends briliantly. Has to be the bast hardtail that ive ridden.
Ill keep yu up to date on how it holds up as im currently riding it in Morzine. Just arrived today so not a chance to sample the riding but currently sitting outside the chalet in some nice warm and sunny weather (sorry if im making you jelous!). Ill try and post a pic of it built up sometime this week as well.
I'll keep an eye on the dropouts, I can't seem them being a problem if you trash them you buy new ones!
Went out on Saturday and rode the red at GT, the bike felt great. Its an absolute hooligan the length of the top tube really encorages you to hang right off it on the downs and the kickback through the frame as you ride over stuff is nowhere near as harsh as my other hardtail.
There are a still one or two tweaks I might try to get the bike a bit more comfortable but the fundamentals seem to be spot on
why is my pocket suddenly geting hotter and hotter i can feel my thigh starting to sweat then blister,..
it's that £1500 burning a hole in my pocket aint it,.. why can i see my self getting the rc305 very soon...
i set my heart on a 305 but the negative reviws on the 303 were putting me off like i said the only thing on the 305 was the link above about dropouts.
i then seen the whyte 905 and thought yeah theres my new hardtail but never did get it i had this secret love for the pace and now i found 2 owners to hassle
so thanks rich for this post thats a smart censored bike there.
oh and i think my missus may hate you despite never meeting you because the best part of £1500 is gonna go missing out of the bank. but i promise i wont tell her it was your fault,.. i always was easily led.
i have a few parts here that i will use to keep the cost down
i got a pair of 07 talas r 32 forks to use they praticly brand new came of my santa cruz heckler after only around 8 rides got some avid juicy 5 sat in the shed doing nothing to and an old crappy pair of wheels budget deore hubs on mavic rims,.
the pace will only be a winter and wet weather bike to replace my current hardtail my rockymountain vertex which i'm giving to the misses to keep her sweet,
i should have around 1.5k to spend so if i have any money left when i specced the bike i will get some better wheels and brakes..
i wont be getting top parts just middle range parts for it as i have a heckler thats pimped out and i only got that in september last year pluss wifey has let me go to whislter once this year were i spent silly money piming heckler with new forks and a new front wheel with through hub,.. and she's letting me go back to whistler in sep for 2 weeks.
she not a bad wifey really...

rich or shaun can you guys help me here what head set will be compatable with a rc305 thanks for helpin a retard out
Hey Rich, Just had a peak at your stumpy jumpy pacey links - I'm like everyone else here and am just drooling over the idea of having my own pace. But how much difference between the feel of your two hardtails? What sort of trails do you choose for one over the other?

Enjoy.
Enjoy.
(Love the double cross bracing on the gate too ! )

I agree with ashleymp777 though, I wish Pace still did a frame with square tubes.

Any thoughts on how you would build it up.
I've gone for "trail" rather than lightweight but I gues you could build it any way you want

You want a Hope Semi Integrated. (Integral)

You can't go wrong with a Hope headset, choice is still pretty limited for these types of headsets anyway
