Whats the least arse-numbing performance saddle out there?
Im leaning toward the Spesh Toupe but the Selle Italia Flite is also in the running-anyone got an opinion on this?
Cheers all.

I'll second that. Although there is a bike shop in my area that has a 30 or 90 day trial
period on saddles(I'm in the states). You never know unless you try one. You might
check around with friends and ask if they will let you sit on their saddles. It might at
least give you a bit of an idea on what you would like.

I'll third it. You could spend a lifetime searching for the right saddle for you. Good luck.

I've had good luck with both the Toupe and the Phenom, of which I have 2. If you do go for the Specialized saddle, don't forget to get measured so you get the correct width saddle.

I tend to get on with most saddles, but I've got an Arione and a Flite at the moment, but I'm tempted to try an Aliante on my Fixie.

Whilst I'd agree that it's definitely a personal thing everyone I know who has tried a Fizik Arione loves them. It's the most comfortable saddle I've used for sure.

It's totally individual and you´re just going to have to opt for one, try it and hope it´s first time lucky...

You mention the Selle Italia Flite as something you're thinking of - these come in many different guises though, so make sure you get the right one for you.

For instance, I´ve got a Flite Gel Flow Titanizzato which I find really comfy. It has deep rails and is designed to 'give' quite a bit in the middle, but I´ve also got a Flite Alpes Titanium which has none of these attributes.

    Good luck!

The Toupe is very well designed for overall comfort and very popular too.

I've got them on all 3 of my road bikes

I do well with the center cutout saddles and have had some luck with the so called sit
bone saddles. Still one persons lounge chair is anothers torture rack. Good luck.

My derriere quite likes the Toupe. I've got the 143 Gel.

The Selle Italia Filante that my Izoard came with is bloody awful though: I put my Toupe Gel on the Izoard and thought I'd give the Filante a try on my other roadie. Hard as nails. You might as well just sit on the god damn seat post. :shock I've since replaced it with the orginal supplied Spesh BG saddle.

Personally I can't stand them. Massive and uncomfortable - Like a flat size 13 shoe. I found the Toupe 130 is OK but I'm currently trying alternatives.

I don't think there is a right answer except for trial and error.
