Help with brakes!

I have had my brand new Genesis Core 40 for 2 weeks now and I am loving the bike (much better than my spesh hardrock 05!). I was cleaning it last night and decided to remove the front brake pads to give them a clean, while they were out of the caliper I decided it would be a good idea to squeeze the brake lever a couple of times (what an idiot). The piston on one side then popped out an I lost a bit of fluid. I have put it back in its hole but I can't push it back into its place (flush). It has Shimano LX Hydraulic disc brakes, and they were working perfectly before I got my newbie hands on them. Surely there is a simple way to sort this out, I have a ride planned for tonight. Will I need to put more fluid into the reservoir?
Appreciate the help guys.

Is there any way of fixing it without bleeding the brakes? I dont have time tonight.
I have tried pushing the piston back but it won't move, do I need to apply a lot of pressure?
it is at an angle. or there is a hydraulic lock remove the top cap/bleed nipple from the lever end of the caliper end.
And you will need to bleed the brakes no way around it.
