someone was selling a set, in the road classifieds on this forum, really cheaply same ones that I've got. Once you've got the knack they are great fun, the time goes much quicker than on the turbo.0

Minoura Action Advance are pretty good - metal drums, light and folds easy - what more do you want?0

I used these for a couple of winter seasons:

Great fun once you've mastered them, helps develop your balancing skills and requires full concentration. Having said that I was finding it difficult to really concentrate on my intervals whilst keeping balanced so I swapped to a turbo......
* oh, and don't touch anything metal when you've finished a session....0 -
Best ever...

I sold my Kreitlers to get these..... absolutely fantasticCajun0 -
Used mine in a hotel room the other night when it was raining, boy do they hurt your arse though0

Oh and before any one says anything, I was only riding on them !!0

You've lost me OW, why do they hurt your *rse ?
Basically they're like riding on the road, except a perfectly smooth road with no bumps or potholes, so they should be better on your bum-padding ?0 -

I'm always pretty sceptical when it comes to videos made by the seller, i must say though that a quick search on YouTube provides some real life reviews, the outcome is.....I want one.... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... q=e+motion0 -

Well all I can say is that after 20 minutes on my rollers I had numb nuts which I never had on road rides. Maybe due to the vibration thorugh the drive belt? Anyone else get a sore arse on rollers?0 -
You might find this comprehensice review of rollers at Fixed Gear Fever of some use:

Ah, numb nuts, not a sore *rse - different complaint !
I guess on rollers you end-up fixed in the same position, you don't get any of the subtle changes in position you would on the road as you shift your weight about on climbing or descending, cornering, 'going light' over rough road surfaces, etc.
And perhaps, because the back wheel is between the two rear rollers but the front wheel is on top of the front roller, the bike is also inclined upwards just-a-little at the front, which must put slightly more weight on the nose of the saddle.
I've gone numb when riding the TT bike in full aero position on rollers, but just had to lift my bum off the saddle a bit, slide backwards and forwards, let the blood flow back.0 -
I have the Minoura Action Advance like a previous poster. The metal rollers seem very good, certainly very smooth but the original belt broke after about 30 minutes. The replacement which was made by another company has lasted for 6 months now with no problems.

It's also very quiet so I can listen to the football on a small radio without it playing at a silly volume.Gav2000
