Devil Ride - 2nd route option - the "Little Devil"

Hi, and apologies to anyone who has already entered one of our events as you may get an email later today or tomorrow that duplicates this!

With just under eight weeks to go the Devil Ride is 80% full, and peparations are well advanced for the day itself.

The big news this month is that we have added a second route option to the event - the"Little Devil" will be slightly over 100km (compared to the full route at 100 miles). We had been toying with idea of adding this next year, but having had a fair few requests for a shorter option have decided to include it this year instead. No need to decide on which route you fancy in advance - the Little Devil splits off from the 100 miler shortly after the food stop following the Devil's Staircase (so everyone gets the chance to take that one on!) and you choose then which option to take.

The Little Devil is a great route in its own right - it is no main road "bail out" option, and has almost as much climbing per mile as the full route. The route card and OS mapping given to all riders will cover both routes, and both will be fully signed and supported. More info is at http://www.devilride.co.uk.

Whoops, sorry - the address got messed up by the paragraph ending full stop

Please use either Becky's link or this one: http://www.devilride.co.uk - this time without the extra "."

    I'm in :D

Nice to see an organiser responding to customer demand. And even nicer to have a shorter option if my fitness fails to improve in the next few weeks  Always wanted to ride the Devils Staircase but was slightly uneasy about going the full hundred. Much reassured now.

Thanks for the kind words Scott.

I have had a couple of emails asking about how riders register their choice of distance. You won't need to notify us about which distance you have ridden - the route split will be well signposted and riders can just select their route there and then. The transponders will record which route you took as you pass through the checkpoints.

BTW - just 75 places left out of 500 now, so it looks certain to fill up in advance - we will not therefore be taking entries "on the line". Remaining places will all be filled using the on-line entry system at http://www.devilride.co.uk
