Carbon Frame Creak

Sorry, yet another 'creaking' thread.
I've a creak in my Scott CR1 frame, 1 yr old, that's starting to worry me. It's not rhythmic and happens more often when I am out the saddle so I've discounted the seat-post creak theory. It is worst when I come out the saddle due to particularly poor road surfaces - I get a few loudish creaks, then when I apply some force to build up some speed (whilst still standing) I get some more. Is this normal?
There's nothing obvious (although I haven't stripped the frame). Should I get my LBS to have a look?
Thanks.

The obvious question is are you SURE it's the frame? And not, say, the cranks or BB, which is what the second part of your problem sounds like?0

Might not be your frame at all. Check your pedals and especially your cleats as it can be misleading. Unless your frame is cracked which is probably unlikely (although I could be wrong of course) I would say the problem lies elsewhere.
You could get your LBS to check although if you do take it to them and they pinpoint the source to something silly, you might feel silly yourself. Hope this helps.0 -

I've had weird creaks on my steel Basso which were cured by oiling my SPD pedals, and on my aluminium Cannondale creaking noises were due to worn Look cleats.0 -

Some creaks and noises are not what they seem and pinpointing them can be a challenge.
If it is the noisy plastic of the cleats, try lightly oiling them to shut them up, always worked with mine. It is probably something silly bilbo, be sure to thoroughly check all the usual suspects.0
