Full carbon forks and headset greasing?

A thought occurred to me the other day in that with the bike I'm building maybe I shouldn't be quite so liberal with the grease for my headset given that the forks are full carbon - my thinking being that you don't use grease on a carbon seatpost so surely the same applies to a carbon fork?

What's the score here? Should I be using the carbon grease as I would on a seatpost or is normal grease ok?

Normal grease will be fine. I don't think regular grease has any detrimental effect on the carbon itself. The reason for specific carbon grease for posts is that it is stickier than the regular stuff and stops the post from slipping therefore there's less risk of overtightening and crushing the carbon. There are no such compression forces at the headset end other than the stem clamp which you shouldn't grease anyway for obvious reasons.

    talk to the maker.

even with seat posts and frames some say that greasing carbon is fine.
