How do you replace shimano 105 gear cables?!

Hi,

I recently decided to change my gear cables after a year (about 3000 miles) of riding but having bought new cables actually fitting them has defeated me! I can't figure out how to remove the cables from the shifters - do I have to take the shifters apart? I'd be grateful for any advice.

One other thing - I also broke my seat clamp (bad day!); is there any difference between road and mtb clamps assuming they're the same size? I think I need a 31.8mm clamp and thought I'd just a hope one of the web.

Cheers,

J

Slacken the brake cable off so you can pull the lever to its maximum and you can push the gear cable out from the side.

And make sure you are in top gear so that the cable is straight.
