8 speed to 9 speed questions

Hi
apologies if this has been asked before ive checked but im not convinced.

Im currently running 8 speed 105 and have bought a triple chainset. Ivegot it working with the short cagse rear mech and sora triple changer. But The sort cage rear mech cant really cope with the 52 42 30 chainset, So want to buy new mech. Ive had conflicting advice on whether a new 105 triple mech with fit on an 8 speed cassette. Some say will some way wont anybody any ideas. Im running an 8 speed sram chain so if the new mechs do work with an 8 speed cassette do I have to buy an 8 speed chain.

would love to upgrade to 9 all at once but cant afford it at present

any help would be a appreaciated

    the rear mech will be fine.

    do you think I should be ok with the 8 speed chain or woudl it be best to change to a 9 speed
