Hi

I am looking for advice as to what bike would best suit my body weight. I am 16st and am just about to purchase a road bike and am looking at either an alum/carbon frame. Which one is best for my weight?

Thanks

    One that fits.

16st is no problem for an Ali frame.

I'm don't know anything about carbon frames, so can't really comment

16st shouldn't be a problem with most carbon frames, I can't see it failing on you cos of your weight somehow.

Ali frame, 18 stone - Allez Spec Expert - OK so far and had for 14 months.
All round an incredible ride, responsive, very light.

Other first buy bike a 2006 Claud Butler Roubaix Ali frame - thought I'd made a mistake after a month and reading reviews on CB bikes but it got good budget bike review in C+ and I've upgraded wheels so I use it now as a wet weather and Winter bike that I happily push and thrash around muddy wet lanes. I'm less worried about any damage or decking it and it has been fantastic value at £350.

I've even ridden the CB around Sarlat in France and all over North Wales, no worries
