Messed up U-lock fitting
This has got to be my dumbest post ever but bare with me... 
I decided to invest 59 gbp on a new U-lock from the Abus line.
Tired, hungry, happy and really not in my logic "fixing mood" (If I ever had one) I try to fit the "click-attachment" to the frame .... And I somehow manage to reck it!
So what do I do?
Is there any other way to carry my lock with me without having to lug it around in my backpack?
Any tips on alternative ways to attach it to the frame?
Or is it possible to buy the attachment "gadget" on its own?
Im sure as hell not buying a new lock just because I´m an idiot even when it comes to the simplest "do-it-yourself".
So I really need all the tips and help I can get
