Depends on what you want to ride - there is quite a difference in weight, travel and components!0

I have a Pitch Pro and am very happy with it. It isn't that heavy (31 lbs) it's got good suspension and goes up and down hills very well.
I'm no expert on bikes but if you want a bike that can take some very rough terrain but is also good to peddle back up the hills, then i would recommend the Pro.0 -
I should of mentioned that my other bike is a BigHit, which weighs in at over 40lbs so I was after a much lighter, second bike for XC

Try 'em out, but from saying that, the FSR XC sounds a better. The Pitch is great value, but is the all rounder, rather than XC machine.0

Cheers guys, I'll see if my local spesh dealer will let me try them both.
I'll let you know how I get on.

I used to have a FSR XC pro but sold it when I got fed up of the rear FSR bearing needing constant changing, if you buy either 1st of make sure you know where to buy the correct bearings and 2nd make sure you know how to change them as you'll always be in your local spech dealer for replacements.0

I've had my big hit for over a year and no probs with the FSR bearings, has anyone else had any trouble with the XC?

Although XC is used for rainy days, never had any problems, the only replaced parts are front fork (through option), cassette, L & M chainings, chain, and upgraded to clipless pedals. Never weighed my bikes but it does feel lighter than the rest.spammer0

I have had the rear suspension bush bearing replaced after a year on my XC Comp. (The bush at the bottom of the rear suspension).
Can't say it is an issue. My bike gets used!
Other replacements have been:
Headset - under warranty as dust seal cracked. Paid a little more for upgrade.
Bottom Bracket - after 14 months. Could of continued to use it for a while, but was on it's way out. Upgraded to LX (best now available in Octalink)
Rear wheel - just 'cause I wanted a better one with less maintenance.
Cassette & Chain - now XT with SRAM PC-971
IMHO the FSR XC is an excellent bike. I haven't replaced anything that I wouldn't have expected to do on any other bike.
I certainly won't be changing mine any time soon.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50
