General Bike Maintenance Advice

Hi All
I have purchased a new bike last week and have been wearing it in... Its a Trek 6700.. Having done about 80 Miles on it in the last week, the Rockshocks and other parts of the bike have started to creak a little bit. Basically being new/getting used to being back on the bike, I am unsure what maintenance I should be doing, before I get the bike serviced.
Is there any tips and advice that may be handy?
