Water In Rims

I have just cleaned my bike after it's soaking today and I heard a sloshing sound coming from the back wheel.

After taking off the tyre and tube I discovered that their was water within the hollow of the damn rim

Have you ever heard of this??

I have a Shimano RS10 wheelset with specialized all condition pro elite tyre at 110 PSI.

I dare not run them at any higher PSI in wet conditions as they are twitchy enough in the wet as it is.

Any thoughts/ideas??

I get the same with my Ksyrium / pro race combination. I think it gets in through the valve hole. It certainly leaks out that way when the bike is stationary!!!
You could try a small rubber 'o' ring around the valve stem if it bothers you....

very common with MTB wheels !!! Regularly have water in my Mavic 717s -- probably due to riding through deep puddles and rivers off road :D
Probably through valve / spoke eyelets or could even, in very wet conditions, work its way past the rim / tyre bead as the tyre flexes and due to capillary action of water being so strong

On my Genesis Aether bike it has RS10 wheelset and I havent noticed any water in the rims yet, will see tomorrow but I did notice in the rims there was this small round hole, dont know if yours has it, but I guess water gets in there.

To prevent the rims filling with water you need to put drainage holes in the tyres and tubes.

The movement of the tyre pumps the water in. In winter, the water may be full of salt, not enough to corrode the rims significantly, but the nipples will seize to the spokes. The wheel may then become un-truable, and eventually scrap. Hence the concept of winter wheels.
