Can't shift all the way...

I can't shift my chain to the lowest gear on my cassette. I've just 're-set' everything, and it goes from 9-2 perfectly and smooth but won't get up to the first (biggest) cog?
It seems that the problem is with the shifter; as if it's lost its springiness....
Any suggestions 'cause I need it on the hills!

You've obviously not adjusted it properly by your description, i.e. it sounds like your one gear out on your rear mech alignment.
Read this and try again;

Nope, that's how I've done it and that's why I'm confused. I will run through the procedure again to be sure.
As I mentioned, there seems to be a lack of responsiveness in the shifter itself (I'm not getting eight clicks out of it).Where\'s me jumper?0 -
double check in the top of the shifter where the cable is routed to make sure that the cable is not sheared in any way0

Disconnect the cable from the rear mech, move the mech by hand to see if it moves from largest to smallest cogs.
Then pull on the end of the cable and shift the gear lever through it's range.
Should point you in the right direction.He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0 -
