I'm after some XC tyres to replace the wtb's on my Merlin; Continental speed king supersonics, or Panaracer Fire XC Pros? the blue on the panaracers would fit into the colour scheme nicely, but what about performance? i know the continentals are seriously light, but is it better than the Panaracers?
I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

Where do you ride? What are ground conditions like, locally and what type of bike?
What area of performance do you want to improve?
I use Nobby Nics, but I ride mostly on relatively undemanding terrain,so can benefit from the speed and light weight. If you ride aggressively or in rocky areas you might need something more robust.
Tyres can be good at being fast rolling, but that means grip is compromised.Good grip often comes at the price of lifespan.Lightweight compromises puncture protection, and so on,so let us know what your priorities are.
