hello all, interested in opinions.

I have ordered a Prophet 1 from my LBS - I'm starting to think after reading some reviews that I should consider the Fox Float 36, rather than the Float 32 RL 140 :?: ,

The prophet 2 comes with a Fox Pike and the bolt through axle - but take a step up and then it's back to 9mm quick release (Fox Float 32 RL140), go up a step again -Prophet X -and then they go back to bolt through axle (Fox Float 36),

The difference in price is £300 - i think I'd be better with a bolt through axle to take up some of my wrong lines.

Any advice ?

Rex

Bolt through is stiffer - better steering, but not the only consideration. Testing is really the only way to see these differences.

Anyone else ever ridden both Fox Float 32 & Fox Float 36 - all comments appreciated,

I will mainly be riding local trails - but sometimes it will take a bit of thrashing - my lines won't be the best either - as i've not been riding in a while - how muuch punishment will the Float 32 take ?

    hi there,

iv got a prophet 2 with the pike fork (and maxle/bolt thru, whatever its called this week) and its brilliant.

iv had the bike since around april and since then its been away to glentress, coed y brenin, dalby (several times), cwm carn and all over the north york moors and its not complained once. 4 inches of plush travel, easily adjusted, stiff as rod...what more could you want from a fork.

i say save yourself £300, buy the prophet 2 as it is and spend what you've saved on upgrades when the time comes.

    hope that helps, happy riding!

Ditto Wanted the Prophet 1 after my heavily customised 07 prophet 4 was stolen but found out it had a weaker qr rather than bolt through . Dunno why dale took one step forward and another step back on the p series
Thru axle all the way all your P-2 needs is a better shock (rp23) and your sorted

I've gone with the Prophet 1 - I'm still unsure about the fork but I'll see how it goes - I managed to get the Prophet 1 for about £100 more than the prophet 2,

I'm also wondering if the '09 Fox float fork lowers (with 15mm bolt thru axle) could later be put onto the '08 Fox float fork I'll have - (dependant on cost ) I imagine it won't make sense financially.

    Cheers for your replies -

Anyone else use the Fox Float 32 140mm travel ?
