I'm looking for some protection for cable rub on my new ride. I was going to get some from JustRideAlong until I found this http://www.racerstape.co.uk/FORMgallery1.htm

Has anyone bought any from here? Looks a fair bit cheaper than other prices I have seen. Are there any other places people have bought the stuff from? I'm not considering the B&Q all purpose stuff as I have heard stories of it being crap and I don't mind spending a little more to get some decent stuff.

I recently bought mine from www.justridingalong.com which was recommended by another member on here.

I'm also considering some it's just so damned expensive. I currently have the B&Q stuff but after a couple of wet rides it's coming off and where the cables rub it's become untidy very quickly.

I used racingtape instead of justridingalong as they had more options for width. No problems with them as far as ordering goes, ordered and delivered in two days. If your doing large sections then you can sometimes get annoying little air bubbles under the tape, have found having a hair dryer on a low heat handy for getting a smoother finish.
Wow great ship man. Looks like a fish, flies like a fish, steers like a cow.

    got mine from Ebay
  • Wotcha,

I've posted this before, so forgive any repeats
    Have you considered using Leeches?
They're cheap, stay on through mud and polish and have the added bonus of stopping any annoying twanging caused by cables banging the frame :)

If you want to remove them, give them a squirt of WD40 and peel them off, any residue can be wiped off :D

    Trust me they work

ANy chance of a link to these "Leeches"? Google only gave me some small slug-like things!
I'm just looking for something clear and stuff that will stay on and not degrade or come off.

They're black I'm afraid and used to seal holes in inner tubes, I've used them on every bike I've had since 2003

    Wotcha,
I know it sounds daft, but they work beautifully and stick like you wouldn't believe and can easily be removed!
There is now an image in my ever increasing sig file of my bike, complete with the Leeches in place

I have used them on many occasions. They are really helpful and when I wanted some black helicopter tape for my Carbon fibre frame they managed to get hold of some for me. The tape is top quality UV outdoor grade Polyurethane Tape. No complaints at all would recommend them.

i bought some copter tape and it just doesn't stick to my Heckler. After using alcohol rubs etc etc it always peels off again. Back to clear lizard skin patches for me!! cheap and stay on forever
