Possible bad idea but....

Has anybody respaced a shimano casette to match a Campag 9 spacing?
the aftermarket ones seem Very expensive.
could be a market for campag width spacers with Shimano spline pattern?

Yup - it's only way to run a Campagnolo drive train with disc brakes as virtually no-one makes a MTB disc hub for Campagnolo. The difference in sprocket thickness is minimal - take the screws out of the back of the Shimano cassette, remove the spacers and fit Campagnolo ones - job done. Luckily I have some 9 speed Campagnolo spacers, but Mavic do them too. Campagnolo 10 speed cassettes with Shimano splines are commonly available.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
