Wheels -overkill?
Need to replace/upgrade the wheeles on the other half's Bianchi Via Nirone C2C - I think its the 06 model with carbon forks and ali frame incl seatstays. Currently have Shimano WHR500's on and the hubs are now running rather roughly (despite cleaning and regreasing them) and she's now broken a spoke.
She doesn't want to upgrade the whole bike, just the wheels. She finished the Dragon ride last weekend despite the broken spoke and is doing the Marmotte so we need strong, light wheels and we need them soon! Budget £300 or so but we've been offered a set of DT Swiss R1450 wheels for £430, brand new and unused.
So- total overkill or should we rip their arms off?

Wheels are one of the most important parts of the bike - if you can stretch to them then why not?!0

Go for it. Never tried DTSwiss wheels before but they're a highly respectable brand. Personally I favour Fulcrum Racing wheels.
