Do these come recommended? I'm on spds and want to go proper road shoe and pedal. I was thinking of Shimano RO99 shoes because they are black, have carbon soles and Shimano seem to fit OK.

  • yep - very good.

But the classics are cheaper and effectively the same pedal. The sprints allow a slightly tigher grab of the cleat.

You'd probably be better off with a pair of classics.

Agreed - and the classics are quite a bit cheaper

Do I need the tighter grab? Also should I get the grey cleats?
  • Nope - I use classics and they're fine.

grey cleats - depends on how much float you want. But I'd say start with the grey cleats which 4.5 deg float which is enough for most people.

I don't think many people these days use cleats without some degree of float.
  • You can get a pair of classics off Fleabay for £30 (check they come with grey cleats tho)

    happy pedalling !
  • Oh and check your shoes are compatible with Look cleats !
