Carbon seat post slipping

Recently got an SL2 frameset. The S-works carbon seatpost supplied keeps slipping down. Replaced it with my other Specialized Pave carbon seatpost which stays in place.
Is this down to the manufacturing process? Why should 2 seatposts both with the same diameter on paper be different?
Is there any point in trying one of those carbon solutions to give the seatpost grip?
My biggest worry would be replacing it and the same problem happening.

I use hairspray on mine. Works a treat.

Hairspray is all things to all men....we used to use it on my fine art degree course for 'fixing' drawings in place so they wouldn't smear.
Must have to see if I have an old can.

I had a aluminum seatpost on my Allez and that started slipping recently, must be like a disease...

    Use Tacx carbon assembly compound.

Sorted my slipping S-Works seatpost on my Roubaix

ProBikeKit sell it in a smaller 'syringe' than other places I've seen (how much do you need for a seatpost ?)

TACX Assembly Compound is a must - it sorted my seatpost on my Enigma out a treat

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!

We had a few issues with the high-end Specialized frames and posts and slipping. Didn't seem to affect the lower end ones.

Tacx compound and/or a bit of emery paper generally solved it. I'm not sure we ever got an explanation out of Specialized.
