After the success of the London, Seattle, Chicago and NYC Langsters it would seem Spesh are adding to the series.....(scroll down past the Giant article)

Ah, yep you're right. Didn't know the London had 2 bmx lever types, only seen those singularly before.

No, Mr Peejay78 - I think you will find it is both style, and substance, which is what annoys you! :D

    eh?

langster + style + subtance = does not compute.

    i'm confused.

    but that's nothing unusual.

I quite like the tokyo, do you think you will be able to get it in the UK.

Will probably end up getting a pearson touche though.

    Ta for that peejay.

However I notice you get a choice of gear sizes, what would be a best all round size bearing in mind i've not ridden fixed before?
  • try something like 48/18 or 42/16 as a starting point.

"try something like 48/18 or 42/16 as a starting point"

    Depends on age/fitness/terrain!

Why not try sticking with a ratio at a time on your geared and see which suits? Then go c.2" higher for fixed as starters.

need to know where you are, what the hills are like.

    london for me, 47:17, or 48: 17.

i have one bike which is 44:15, and it's either very fast or very hard, depending on my frame of mind.

    Thanks

Terrain is mostly undulating. There are a few suprises (ditchling beacon and 'the wall') round here but I wouldn't have to go over those as I want to use as a commuter/training bike.

My fitness level is getting better can ride a 10 in a high 26 mins and regularily ride 100+ miles a week

make that a 'very high' 26

At a guess then c.70" probably a good starting point.

I seem to work on gear plus age in years equals 120! So now I mainly ride 60"......(tho' the new Langster is so much lighter than any old steeler I've ridden that it's currently on about 65"!).

    I was just trolling.

i was going to back it up by saying that a specialized frame is surely substantial and as you are admitting it has style

therefore the Langster has both style and substance.

Anyway, I was in a cantankerous mood this morning - so apologies!

whats the specialized Tricross like. Im thinking of going single/fixed for he first time and really like the look of this bike any thoughts.

To go off topic a bit, I'm thinking of trying a fixed. If I can get a good deal with the next years colours price drop in the autumn.

However, I live in the lake district, fangs brow, whinlatter, newlands, honister are all ithin 30 mins of my house. Even the coastal riding around here is up and down a bit. Tell me, is it a daft idea going fixed?

Not ridden one, but had I been buying new/full price I'd have chosen the Tricross Single over the Langster - and probably over any other off-the-shelf fixed. For the looks and the 'grd capability (Langster dry weather only as far as I'm concerned!).

I saw one chained to a railing in the City with the Langster graphic replaced with a "W@nkster" graphic - another limited edition?
