Michelin Pro Race 3 experiences
How are people getting on with their Pro 3 Races now that they've been out for a while? In particular, has anyone found them to be puncture prone? Are they really a shorter distance lightweight race tyre, or would you happily use them for a 100mile+ sportive? For the etape? All thoughts / comments welcomed.

well so far I've done about 300miles on mine and they're all good. Still early days but I think they'd be fine for a sportive. I've done a couple of 80+ milers on them and they've proved to be fast and reliable.
Like a lightweight version of the krylions so thumbs up from me.

Not a fan....
Not much clearance on my bike. Went to pull off one of he little tassles that are left from the moulding process and part of the sidewall came with it. Sent them back to Michelin, Nothing....
Cheers then...
Am back on Ultremos....0 -
Without trying, I can predict they will be an improvement on the PR2s which were phenomenal tyre in every respect. Can't wait to get some.0

I've had some on my bike for about 3 months now. I've always been a big fan of Pro Race, they cut a bit but wear very well compared to say GP4000s, and seem to roll great. I've found them fairly puncture resistant too, but I do avoid going out in crap weather and try to stay on decent quality roads.0

No problems after a month or so, including the chiltern 100, which was 107 miles. Obviously not the most comfortable tyre in the world, and limited puncture protection, but no complaints from me.0

Got some on my new wheels but not ridden yet, just waiting on fitting a cassette and then I'm off.
I was a huge fan of the Pro2's, so looking forward to trying these.0 -
I've had some on my bike just under a week now, or around 100 miles. Managed to put multiple holes in the inner tube fitting the front tyre, but that was prob my incompetence rather than it being a particularly tough job.
Since then, no probs. The 3s roll very quickly relative to my previous tyres (Hutchinson Equinox which came on the bike as new), as much as 1-2 mph I would say, inspire a lot of confidence on turns and feel more comfortable than the Equinoxes too. Only ridden in dry or drying conditions so can't really comment on wet grip yet, but at twenty quid a tyre on shavedlegs, highly recommended - certainly wouldn't hesitate to use for a sportive or longer rides.0 -
I Can't fault these tyres. I used the PR2's and have just gone on to PR3's. Used them in short distance races and will do a Sportive in July with them but I hardly ever use them for training as they have such a short lifespan and would soon be shredded. I use Michelin Latex tubes with them and seem to avoid snake bites when fitting them.

I've had one on my rear wheel for a week- just went out for a 60 mile ride today
No problems so far and felt noticably smoother and faster than some cheaper Continental I had on there before.0 -
I've done about 1500km and can't fault them.
One puncture on a large stone on the Hampshire Hilly, which would be below average for me!
They roll great, super grip and don't seem to cut up as much as the PR2 (although that could be luck)0
