I am not interested in changing the BB. Want to swap my compact for a standard - what tools do I need and where can and will I mess up?

    what tools do I need

a long 10 mm torque allen key to remove centre bolt, and then do it up again.

where can and will I mess up?

    please torque it right!!

For HTII, a 5mm allen key and the plastic tool for adjusting the bearing load is all you need -remove the plastic cap on the non-drive crank - undo the pinch bolts on the non-drive crank and pull off the crank. You may need to give the exposed end of the BB spindle a slight 'tap' with a mallet to get it moving and slide out the crank. For the Ultra-Torques, you'll need to prise of the clip on the drive side bearing housing too - a small screwdriver is all that's needed.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
