Looking for some cheap shoes with SPD. These shoes descirbed as suitable for 'all round use.' Would probably prefer something I can walk around comforably in too. Any opinions?

they look ok and will probably do the job.

but if you are sure of the size you want, it might be worth a look for a bargain on ebay.

Hmm. the MT20s don't look very stiff. don't look ideal for road biking.

I used them with SPD's for many a mile before going the full road shoe route. They are a good, durable entry level shoe and should do just what you want.

I've used them for the last four years and I'm very happy with them - the soles are stiff enough (never had any 'hot-foot'), and never had any discomfort walking in them.

YMMV of course - they may not suit you, but I'd happily buy another pair.

Shoes like these tend to be a bit too much of a compromise IMO. Can't say how stiff (or not) those Shimanos are but I had a pair of Spesh Sonomas which also market themselves as all-rounders and they were just too soft to cycle any distance in. Terrible hot spots after 5-10 miles.

I replaced them with a pair of Shimano RT30 for commuting and I've never looked back. Much much stiffer than the Sonomas therefore more comfortable on the bike. You wouldn't want to go hiking up hills in them but they're comfy enough that I wear them all day round the office, walk to the shops at lunchtime etc.
