Did the most amazingly stupid thing this morning - I cycled into a parked car - perfectly correctly parked in full daylight. Still don't know how I did it, was just going along and next thing I know I was feeling my teeth break against the boot. Sat at work now feeling very very stupid and quite sore - wrenched neck and back, cut lips, two front teeth broken (well at least thats the Christmas present sorted?) Dentist appointment at 3pm. 2 days ahead of the Dragon ride too.
Only good thing is that the owner of the car has been good about it, waved off the minor damage to his boot (from my teeth!) as its a work vehicle. Oh and bike is undamaged.

Sucks
Hope you heal up quickly0 -
been there, done that.
But I hit a car going full pelt, too busy looking down as the gears were skipping. Hurt my gentleman bits on the stem, wasn't good.
Hope you mend soon0 -
I fell off my bicycle a couple of years ago (no particular reason - I just fell off) and landed on my teeth. I felt extremely silly. The dentist did a good job of fixing my chipped teeth though you wouldn't notice the difference unless you looked really, really hard.*´¨)

I rode into the back of a parked BT van once. That was in the days when they were bright yellow too. I've no idea how that happened.0

Rode into a house about 14 years ago while on holiday in Belgium. Broken nose in two places, nice trip in an ambulance and a buckled front wheel. Worst thing was that I couldn't ride for two days until the wheel got fixed.Steve C0

Ow, painful! And any sort of teeth damage gives me the jeebies.
The other day I nearly walked into a lamppost because I was reading a text. :oops:0 -
...I lost all my top front teeth and one at the bottom...my dentist did a terrific job, and I now have a fantastic Hollywood smile......all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0

I've hit the back of two parked cars in the past - once as a kid - hit a Porche 928....argh - neighbour was OK about it.....
And also commuting in the dark - happened to look down at the wrong minute and my thigh struck the rear corner of a parked car at about 20 mph - didn't come off, but boy, I couldn't walk properly for days - massive bruising0 -
Thanks for encouraging posts. Dentist says fillings initially, may need root canal later if nerve dies off... Full of Ibuprofen and feeling better, hoping to still do Dragon Ride Sunday.0

an acquaintance of mine crashed into a parked car and his 2 front upper teeth got stuck in the glass, he hit it that hard!!!
When he lifted his head up, they came out. Looked like bugs bunny after the dentist put them back in...2010 Lynskey R230
