Anyone ridden the new Cannondale Rize 4?
I am undecided as to whether to buy it or a Trek Fuel EX8

Test them out! The Trek has slightly less travel - but depends what you are after. Plenty of good bikes for this budget,0

hi cole, i am in same postition, have widdled my wishlist down to these 2 bikes. I have had a quick go on a rize 4 and it felt great, great steering and very comfy. The suspension felt very plush too. I haven't seen any reviews yet but it is a very new bike. the trek has had loads of great reviews so its a hard choice! at the moment i am very close to choosing the rize. (the black looked great in the flesh too)0

Hi JoeJoe
thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I haven't seen either of these bikes yet as they are not in any lbs as yet.
The Trek willl have to be a special order for myself and the Cannondale hasn't arrived yet.
I live 60 miles away from either shop which will sell these so am desperate for a test review as a test ride may be difficult.
I am 6'1" and would like a bike with quite a long top tube. I rode a Stumpjumper FSR which felt quite short.
The Dale and Trek are a similar spec but there is £400 difference which is hard to justify unless it blows the Trek away.
What was your opinion.0 -
I agree about the disparity in value, but the cannondale did feel a bit special, which justified the difference to me, hence i have ordered one!
The cannondale does have better wheels and contact componants, and the frame has a lifetime warrenty. The Trek is also a really nice bike though. I've tried out a kona dawg, scott genius + spark, specialized stupmjumper in my quest for a new bike and the 'dale and trek felt way infront in terms of balence and feel.
I am 6ft and the L 'dale and 19.5 inch Trek were perfect.
I think it is really worth going to the shops even if it is a bit of a drive, as your heart will usually decide for you when you see your dream machine in the flesh!0 -

thanks for that, sounds like you may be having a rip roaring summer ahead on your new bike.

I'm waiting to test ride the fading Prophet (1) and the Rize.....The review of the Rize 3 Carbon in the latest What MTB might end up swaying me towards the Rize rather than the Prophet. Just a bit worried about buying a bike in the first year of it's product life - the Prophet was proven over time....I guess alot of the prophet will come through in the rize - rear end/pivot stiffness will possibly decide it....and the higher component spec on the Rize....choices choices!www.practicalcycles.com

hey how did the review on the rize fair up, havent had the chance to buy the mag yet this month?Ibis Mojo SL-r0

It was a 'first ride' rather than a review' so no score out of 10 just yet. However there was barely a bad word against it (they reviewed the Rize 3 which I believe is the cheapest carbon framed bike in the Rize range). I'm looking at the Rize 4 Alu. WMB think that Cannondale have produced a rival to the Trek Fuel EX8 and other similar clones after years of 'almost' being a rival.www.practicalcycles.com
