seatpost shims

bought a seatpost for the merlin in 27mm diameter. the seatube is actually 27.2mm diameter. would i be able to shim this tiny difference? shoudl i not bother? or shoudl i change the post to one the right size?
I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

get one that is the correct size.
