    No worries anytime
Want a club that knows the trails around Newcastle during the week and goes further every weekend of the month, rain hail sleet or shine?

Press ups are good for maintaining chest definition - if you can do more than 50, then their are plenty of variations around that are more intense (which I do).

But I'm sure you know that already.

Surf Matt you sound like Superman and Peter Perfect rolled into one....i bet you have to pinch yourself to see if your real? LOL

    Good work Colsa
And you must have really cracked it to be driving a 320DMSport...:lol:

LOL wouldn't say i've cracked anything, never said i had, my car is a hack that i do alot of miles in, great economy, comfortable, and cheap to run, ticks all the boxes to do 35k a year in. A car is not a sign of success or wealth, I have other things to spend my money on.

    But you sound great!

P.s i don't have the user name to ad my car, i use car forums so kept the name the same.

Well it seems that there is more than one BMW driver on here that uses their car model as a username. Never felt the urge myself.

Luckily, as mentioned on Top Gear, Audis are the new BMW now. The ones most likely to tailgate, forget to use indicators and generally drive like muppets.

I likie BMWs but would never consider one with any less that 3 litres - nearly got a 330i in fact but the Golf R32 was a bit quicker and more fun. Now sold though.

In fact I think base engined BMWs are utterly pointless, especially with the M Sport kit attached - all the show but no go. Much much better is a 335d debadged on standard alloys 8)

    Oh yes, and I'm great.

Like i said before mr surf matt 2 stumpys i am frugal with my money, yes i could buy a 335d but what is the point when you can't really use the performance (286bhp) in the lakes and i've done the spend hundred quid a week on fuel when i had my Subaru but i was young and daft then!

Plus the 335d only comes in Auto.

320d does me fine, 50 mpg and with the M sport stuff attached as you say means it actually turns in well and handles as it should do, which is more important to me.

I'm sensible as i like the look of my car, identical to a 335d but with half the running costs when doing 35k miles a year.

I've had six Audi's and wouldn't touch one again unless you really don't enjoy driving, vague steering, understeer, and notchy gear change. not for me anymore!

Don't believe all you here or read in top gear, watch 5th gear where you get Tiff Needell or Jason plato, real racing drivers reviewing cars, not some jumped up car journo's.

Audi haven't made a decent drivers car since the UR quattro bar the R8 but if i was to spend 90k on a car i wouldn't buy one of them.

Don't tail gate anyone, and use my indicators.

Shouldn't really pigeon hole people....i don't with Surfers.

Cars are my hobby and trackdays hence why i use a car related username, probably why you call yourself 'Surf matt' why would you on a bike forum?

Took an R32 to the Nurbergring on a RMA track trackday, didn't rate it to be honest, to much understeer and the front discs warped after about 8 laps and it was only 2 months old.

That's why i don't feel the need to have a super fast road car as i would rather do a trackday in a dedicated car and drive properly.

I find it quite funny when you get boy racer types like you on the back roads, 2.0 diesel or not, it has more torque than a 330i petrol and it's down to how much speed you carry through the corners on the twisties.

But saying that your probably a ex race driver too! LOL

Nope but cop trained and did IAM test aged 22. Also written the odd car review and driven a huge number of cars from a Morris Marina to an Evo FQ360, an Elise 111R and an F355.

Not boy racer type - quite the opposite. But I like my cars subtle.

Not sure what the rant is about Audis - I haven't really liked them for ages (my dad had 3 uR Quattros and loved them so it's a shame to see them making fast but boring handling cars) - except the new S3 which is quite fun.

I just enjoy driving different cars. And the 535d my inlaws had was very impressive indeed.

Anyway, I'll stop now - you'll only get shirty again.

Shirty....me no way, thing is with text it can come across wrong, i found the banter quite fun!

Anyway i'm passionate about cars too, and yes 535d is an amazing car!

    Have a happy prosperous life.

    Cheers.

320D - Well we do both share a passion for cars, albeit slightly different ones.

My love for petrol is rather low key now thanks to the government. It means a diesel estate (although quite a quick one) and a small petrol 4x4 that's VERY slow. Only fun with petrol now is careering off a bank/wall with the "out of control" petrol mower, causing wildlife carnage with the petrol strimmer and whizzing around in the petrol boat.

Proper petrol cars are now very silly (cost wise) to run - a real shame

    I'll second that!

The fuel costs now is what drove me to diesel!

The wife was getting a golf GTI for work and her company suggested she get a diesel, i was gutted as i thought i may get some petrol fun!

She got a Golf Tdi sport 140, goes ok and again cheap to run!

My last bit of fun went a few months ago, i had race prepared Golf Gti Mk2, 2 door big bumper, full cage, fully stripped, carbon race seat and fully adjustable coil overs.

My plan was to race it but with the cost of living and fuel getting more expensive i decided against it and just track dayed it, lot of fun baiting faster cars as the golf had a serious weight advantage, 895kg compared to a Subaru at 1250kg, makes a big diff in the corners!

So i decided to race my bike instead! much cheaper and the tyres are a snip LOL.

    i haven't even got a petrol mower!

Ahhh - happy memories of my mk2 GTi - fitted big bumpers (it was an older one), did a few tweaks here and there and loved it. It was in our family for a total of 12 years!!

Eventually sold it for a (shock horror) new Saxo VTR which although tinny, handled superbly - I got it in 98 before they became chaviots! Then a mk3 GTi 16v (bit fat but still a good car), then the R32 (heavy but sounded lovely and gripped very well) - then vandals made life a misery so had to go back to an "invisible" car which we still have. Works fine, goes well but not very exciting

Think that Evo FQ360 might be the last really quick car I will ever drive on public roads. Brilliant machine, albeit a bit clinical. Quickest car I've driven though (acceleration wise. The F355 had a higher top speed).

Cancelled my Evo mag subscription a while ago - even they seem to be realising that the affordable fun car is being priced off the road. A real shame

Good to see the thread han't been hijacked again. Possibly now better suited to that car forum.

On a different topic: it's good to hear the weight is still comming off. At 16.5st and 6'3" (big bones and all the other excuses  ) I've got a long way to go but these updates help to ease the pain.

    Cheers.
