SRAM v XT Cassette

Currently using an XT rear cassette.
Thinking of using an SRAM next. Either pg-970 / 980
Are there any compatability issues?
Do they fit the same?
Is there much difference in performance?

other than lose steel cogs and alloy bodies."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I have found that the XT cassette lasts slightly longer but there isnt much in it I would just go for the one that is cheaperFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

SRAM PG-970 uses a rivetted steel stack assembly so unsuitable for lighter weight hubs that use an alloy freehub body like Hope Pro II or Tune
for those types of hubs use the SRAM PG-990 which has an alloy spider assembley
the PG-990 is definitely lighter than the PG-970 and a little crisper under heavy shifting as the spider makes the cassette stiffer
the XT cassette falls between the two SRAM cassettes in price, and also has an alloy spider
you won't really go wrong with either XT or SRAM PG-990, or the Deore and PG-970 if on a budget and using hubs with steel freehub bodiescheck out my riding - www.robcole.co.uk Banshee Factory Team rider, Da Kine UK Team rider, www.freeborn.co.uk www.eshershore.com0 -
The hub is XT.
Rob - you seem to now a bit about the make up of the cassettes, however you haven't mentioned the PG-980.
Where does this fit in with the Shimano stuff - LX?Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50
