Riding near Exeter?

Me and a friend are heading down to Exeter at some point in the next few weeks and reckon we may have about 4 or 5 hours spare for a bit of riding.
I don't know that part of the country at all, so any advice anyone could give on some idiot proof riding around that area would be great. Thanks.

Give Haldon Hill a try. It is just south of Exeter (5-10 mins) on the A380/A38.
There are details of trails at http://www.exmtb.co.uk and also at http://www.haldonfreeride.org
There are various routes for different levels of ability etc... plus a cafe and other facilities. It is a forestry commission run place.
