That noted TT ace Gesink got 10thIt's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

I think a combibation of a seriously tricky course and lousy, wet conditions made it a lottery.
For Piti, it was a combination of the conditions, taking more risks........and.......uuummmm.......taking more risks.
Oh, and interesting to see Big George over-taken by Praying Landis Jnr."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

I picked him, then changed to Levi coz i didn't know it was a TT. Wish i'd left it now...0

Hi folks.
Valverde takes 20 seconds out of Evans in a TT, which makes him my new favourite for the Tour.
I've always liked his attacking riding, starting way back when he outsprint LA at a mountain top finish in his first tour.
Puerto or no Puerto, Valverde is always going to make for more exciting racing than Evans would. Would be nice to see Cunego and Valverde knocking seven bells out of each other on Alpe D'huez this year, while Evans follows close behind...

I think he's peaked too early. Remember Mayo that year he destroyed Armstrong on Ventoux (I think) - then nothing.
I'm yet to be fully convinced by Cunego as a Grand Tour rider (even though he;s won the Giro). I reckon Sastre is more likely. There may be an epic Chiapucci -like mountains ride from him.Twitter: @RichN950
