I rarely shop at Wiggle now, they seem to be quite expensive, I seem to spend a lot at Ribble now.
I have noticed that recently all right, their supposed list prices seem to have jumped up to the extent that even their "discounted" categories are often more expensive than other shops. They are one of the shops that does free delivery to Ireland though which can make them appealing.

I guess I've been uber lucky, crosses fingers as is waiting for an order from JE James, but I've placed a stupid amount of orders to Wiggle, CRC, Parkers, Ribble, PBK, Spa Cycles, SJS, Rutlandcycles, AW Cycles, UKBikestore, plus I'm sure others, and have only had minor issues.

Never had the wrong item sent, occasionally a delay longer than expected, but that is the exception, and once a jersey from a large order missing, but that turned up 2 days later after I mailed them (Wiggle)
CRC took a jacket back after I had cut the tags off, and refunded me promptly.

Wiggle especially have upped their prices, and are bargaining on shop loyalty, but I find most of my recent purchases have been CRC and Ribble, PBK and Parkers are pretty hot too - as with all things, pays to shop around, savings can be not inconsiderable.

placed an order with j.e.james a week ago for some things they had in stock......still waiting for it. free poastage option, but still completely unacceptable when it only has to come from 1 end of yorkshire to the other! never again! no problems with any other online retailers

I really don't know why people get offended so easily.

I thought you were fairly restrained. I would have called them pikeys!!

It's interesting that a number of you have recently experienced problems with Chain Reaction. I've used them for a number of years and found them to be very efficient with practically next day delivery. However, recently I have ordered some items and they have taken weeks to arrive despite supposidly being 'in stock'.

I emailed them and to give them credit they did respond within the hour saying that they had had a major increase in demand recently, that they had been experiencing staffing problems and that items shown as being 'in stock' might not necessarily be the case these are updated manually.

To be honest it's not good enough and I will be ordering my goods elsewhere for the time being.

I notice Martin Brundle got a slap on the wrists for using that word at the Canadian GP when referring to the shoddy conditon of the track.

Wiggle's prices have really increased, and it is only in the last few months. It is probably connected to the Euro appreciation but other shops seem to have managed to stay the same. I'm a platinum customer myself and more often than not an item will be discounted from "list" by more than 10% anyway (or there will be some other offer) so it is quite rare that I get any benefit from it! And even with the discount CRC are often cheaper.

Wiggle's "list" prices are also often exaggerated, especially with their in-house brands but others also. This lets them post agressive supposed discounts. Again this has got worse recently- compare prices on bikeradar gear reviews to the prices on the Wiggle site today and you may be surprised. That Descente Velom jacket they had on offer recently for example _was_ a bargain but it was by no means "50% off" - Probikekit had it for not much above with a lower "list" price.

Having said that Wiggle are generally more responsive overall, although for anything I think I might need to return I would lean towards CRC simply because they are on the same island so postage is cheaper. For a bike, it would definately be Wiggle, they set them up very well while CRC just ship on the box as they get it (in my experience, having bought bikes from both.)

I've started using www.bikepimp.co.uk which is a very handy comparison site.

Even though I'm a platinum customer I've found some of Wiggles prices to be expensive.

With a local shop I'm quite loyal but when it comes to online retailing I'm just after a good price. I've found myself using PBK, Parkers and Ribble more than Wiggle and CRC of late. Having said that I recently bought some nice Campagnolo clothing from Wiggle and that was very reasonable.

well over the past few months i find myself using wiggle more than any other online retailer and its only because they are cheap.
anyway i just put my email address on bikepimp for the weekly bargains, so it should be good too see what offers they have.

if you use your lbs regularly i'm sure you would get a bit of discount and a better level of customer service.

Being a gold customer is pretty rubbish now, used to be you got 5% off everything, but now you only get the 5% off full price items.

Does Platinum mean you get 10% off everything, or does it work in the same way?

If so, not much good in my eyes.

Works the same way, e.g. 10% off full price items only. As most stuff is discounted already it is rare that it kicks in.
