Very sorry to hear about that unfortunate incident man.
I wish you all the best & hope you still remain a cyclist forever.

An entire nation of cyclists and many more offer their sympathies. It's amazing how resolute and optimistic you have remained.
I reckon most of us wouldn't have the courage to be so philosophical and balanced. Lucky for the driver who hit you, I guess, as most of us would get unhinged.
Reading your comments has been uplifting. I wish you a total speedy recovery.0 -

Get well soon that sounds like a right shocker.
I have to say I hope she goes to prison - it was pure good luck and your robust constitution that it wasn't even more serious, but that doesn't make what she did one iota less lethal.0 -
Yes she caused it, but it sounds like she immediately put her hands up, came to see sie in hospital and is doing all she can to try and make it right. Don't like to see people like that getting, i think the quote was, 'screwed for every penny'.
I bet she doesn't use her mobile again while driving!
1. That kind of behaviour deserves a good lesson and why not make her ride when her ban is enforced? Hey I'll even drive behind her to make sure she complies  !
2. I bet she will be back on the phone telling all her mates just how terrible it all was (whilst driving her car back from the body shop).
Idiots cannot be reformed, only recycled!.

I think stupid behaviour can be reformed though. A girl was killed here recently after a truck ran a red light and destroyed her car. I see fewer people running reds now. Mobile phones can still be legally used whilst driving in Virginia. I don't see how people do it. I can't drive a car and use the phone at the same time.. it's too much and it's unsafe.0

QUOTE; I ended up with two broken legs (left thigh, right shin), a fractured left arm, neck spraining, cuts, bruises and road rash galore
Pah! is that all, you shoulda walked it off!
Seriously though nasty accident mate, wasn't crying when she was on the phone tearing through traffic lights was she? Make sure to get her for all you can, selfish b1tch needs to learn the hard way it might be an example to others, really hope you're on the mend by now though, also great attitude, i'd be baying for her blood  Much respectwinter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

Agreed. This new law that makes driving while on a mobile a more serious offence than it was previously should be brought in to full effect. I also agree that it matters not what your injuries are because they could have ranged from a grazed knee to death. I bet your fitness levels saved you from further injury but she could have hit a child or a pensioner with the same force but with much more serious results.************************
Your optimism strikes me like junk mail addressed to the dead.0
