Not able to change up on a compact from the small ring
Hopefully someone can help please
Just had by cables adjusted before before my hols as its a new bike and did a 50 miler no probs, tonight on my first ride back I was on a climb and whilst out of the saddle dropped from my outer ring to my inner and as I did under some pressure the chain came off and I nearly ended on my a**e.
However after putting the chain back on I cannot change back up to the outer ring, I've manually moved the chain and I works going down but not the other way.
Do I need to take back to the LBS (hassle) for them to sort or is it an easy quick fix adjusting something ?
Sorry to sound totaly thick but please could someone help - by the way it's a 105 set

sounds like when your chain came off suddenly with you out of the saddle it probably bent the front mech cage out of alignment. Maybe even buckled it. You need to re-set your front mech and check the cage for damage/buckle
post a piccy if you can of the front mech on the big ring0 -
sound pretty simple to fix, its your limit screws on your front deraileur most likely. First check if your front derailleur isnt completely screwed up or different than before by simply bending it into alignment or the right angle that it should be (if it was bent in the first place). Then sort out your L screw to stop the chain going completely off the chain set. Also this should also sort out your upper ring change bringing the left side of the derailler closer to the chain so it can bring it up. You may have to adjust your H screw too. If this is complete rubbish to you, just watch this tutorial and read its description and piccies below:
