Different brands, different prices! Avoid the CBR, it is junk, weighs a ton and the suspension doesnt work. Look for an alloy hardtail (just front suspension!), preferably 24 gears. Be good to try a few shops and see what they have.0

wat do u think of the shogun?0 -
CBR does share a name (sort of) with Claud Butler, but they are not exactly the same: Claud Butler produce some pretty decent bikes, but CBR produce awful ones like that Extreme!"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

I'd avoid the Shogun as well to be honest, cable discs and a pretty nasty set of forks! Whats your budget?0

It's cheaper than £170, and at this price point Vs will be better than crappy cheap discs. You are very unlikely to find a better new bike for the money!"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0

I'd go for V's at this price they will perform much better than bargain basement discs.
You could always keep an eye out for a good second hand bike too.0 -

Agreed, keep your eye on eBay. Some bargains to be had - my current bike cost just £105 on there (£300 new)"Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling." ~James E. Starrs0 -
