I have never realy needed to fiddle about with my hub, so i dont realy know alot about them, but I was wondering if a SRAM PG830 cassette would fit my Hope Pro2 hub? as my current cassete is pretty much dead....

It will fit. You do know its 8 speed? And it will probably rip the soft Hope freehub body up - this hub requires a cassette with a softer alloy carrier like the newer XT and top end SRAM

i am looking for an 8 speed cassete but there isnt much choice any more..

is this one any better (SRAM PG850) or whould I have to spend a bit more on a Shimano XT M737 8 Speed

Though still not entirely sure of its full 'hope friendliness', but at least 4 of the sprockets are on an alloy carrier (new 9 speed ones have 6)
